Hello, I'm Ryan, and I like to take photographs! This page exists so that I can easily share some of those photos with you. I currently shoot with a Sony α7RV, and previously shot with Nikons and Polaroid.
I grew up being inspired by my Dad's passion for travel and nature photography. I loved when he'd pull out the slide projector, dim the lights, and talk us through the slides he'd carefully curated from a trip. I still miss the sounds of the fan keeping the projector from overheating, and the mechanical clicks of the slides being swapped in and out. Later, he'd move on to digital photography, and spent endless hours editing photos. It was kind of crazy.
Well, whatever spark that was that drove him, I got it too. As a child I got carried away taking "artistic" snapshots of a local park with a disposable camera, and I wasted all of the film that was intended for a school project. At the time my Mom was mad that we had to go buy another camera, but the compulsion to see the world artistically has stuck with me, so I think it was a good thing.
